92 Runner needs new exhaust

So, I've been slowly getting my new Runner up and running and today I got under it and saw lots of rust in the exhaust. Majority of the holes were in the canister but there are holes throughout the whole system. Also, the PO said the CAT had been hollowed out and it sounds like complete garbage. Anyway, it needs replacing and I'd like some opinions. Anybody know of a company that makes a full system at a reasonable price or should I just go to a local shop and have them fix it?

I found this on ebay, is it worth it?

thats just a original replacement of your stock... no difference in sound or anything. I myself have a 92 4runner as well... but mines a bit more expensive that 119 bucks... about 900 bucks more. do you want a bolt on or a fully custom one? Do you want a tone to it or just restore it back to stock? how much do wanna pay? There aren't really any companies left that make pre-fabricated bolt on exhausts except for dynomax, but like I said, its just a shiny stock system. Heres a couple of mine to hear what it sounds like. it has NO cat, by the way. I have videos of it with a cat as well, if you'd like to hear.

Thanks for the info. I'm just looking to restore it back. I'm not into the whole tone thing. I get enough tone from my diesel F250. I don't want to spend that much. I mean, all it is is pipe and a canister.

then yeah, get the dynomax, but I believe its just gonna rust through again, I dont believe that it is stainless steel. believe its just aluminum brushed steel. another thing you could do is run to a pick n pull near you with a sawzall and cut off another stocker exhaust. it would be alot cheaper... everyone has their preferences. Im a sound nut, plus I wanted to increase the life of my truck by adding headers... thats why my exhaust was so expensive. if I had gotten just the cat back it would've been a little over 200 bucks for just the muffler, tip and pipes welded. If I were you, I'd buy a magnaflow muffler, its stainless and take it to a shop and have a cat back welded up for you. buy the 18" it'll give you a nice little hum. it'll be very quiet as well.

Thanks for the info and that link in the other thread. I think that is exactly what I'll do. Thanks again, man. You've been ever so helpful.

I'm military so I live in Tucson but the 4Runner will be registered in Tennessee so I'll be having the exhaust done in Tucson, where they have emissions. Think I'll run into trouble trying to get them to just do it without a cat?

yeup yeup, anytime. Just ask if you need any help. if you want an even QUIETER muffler, go with the 22" just be sure you get 2.25, and nothing bigger
