92 pick up 4wd not working???

92 pick up 4wd not working???
I have a 92 pick up 4wd. I lock my hub and put it in 4wd am it just wont lock dont know whats wrong with it all i know it aint working. am a corolla guy so this is all new to me. are my hubs bad or what. can anybody help me out???

Do you hear a click when you put it in 4wd?
Does the 4wd light come on?
Jack up each front wheel (one at a time), spin with the hub set to free. Make sure the CV joint does not spin. Set the hub to lock and make sure when you spin the wheel, the cv joint turns aswell..
