hey guy's im having a problem with my moms 92 4runner with the 3.slow she bout it as a lil beater to get to an from work but all of a sudden it has no power. i Know the 3.slows are not power houses but they should be able to do over 45. the guy she got it from had just done the timing belt. he said he put everything back right. at idle it runs smooth no shacking or anything but you get it on the road and its weak as hell.

 

Did it have proper power/get above 45 mph when she first drove it?

Check for loose or cracked vacuum hoses and loose ground wires. Sounds like the timing is off to me.

yeah it wasn't bad, but the power loss is not always there it comes and goes. wouldn't it have a ruff idle if it had vacum leak or bad plug wire?
