92 2WD 5 Speed Tranny Shifter Removal

What is the trick to pulling the shifter? The housing bolts are removed and I cant get the dang shifter out!!!!!

i believe that there is a C clip you must remover as well.

Nope, found the problem: My helper only removed 4 of the 6 bolts on the housing

What a screwed up design! The tranny has to be manipulated JUST right in order to drop it out due to the torsion bar/crossmember design
