'91 Toyota Pickup Clutch Pedal Help
I'm looking to see if my clutch pedal needs adjusting. It seems like the clutch doesn't seem to start to engage until the VERY top of the pedal travel. [i did just get a new clutch, flywheel, and transmission but the problem was the same before replacement]. I've driven 3 other manuals within the month and they all seem to start to engage towards the bottom/middle of the pedal travel [bmw, subaru, ford f350]. Just wondering if there is a simple adjustment i can do. [i did search, but i like to get personalized responses to my unique problems] Thanks!

If your clutch is anything like mine on a 86 pickup, there is a threaded latch type thing on the clutch master cylinder inside the cab way up under the dash. You may be able to adjust that for better pedal travel.

i would think spinning it out, effectively making the clutch throw longer and thus putting the engage point in the middle, but i'm not 100% sure. it's not too hard to adjust so it should be easy to try either and see what happens. Just be sure the clutch still fully engages and disengages. Each clutch is different for each vehicle so you may just have to get use to it

i know this thread is old. but just wanted to know if you fixed this., i have 88 22r 5 speed, that i just took ownership from my uncle. and the pedal has about a 4 inch play before you feel pressure or engage/disengage to change gears. i am just reading this now. i only drive the truck once a week.
