I have a 91 Runner (V6-3L) that is throwing a Knock Sensor code and although I'm a bit of a rookie, I'd like to try to tackle the problem on my own. I posted the question on another board and a yotatech member said this site is a better resource and that you guys will more likely be able to help. Here's what I know:

1. Code 52 - Knock Sensor
2. Persistant problem with this model
3. Not always the actual sensor and likely the wiring
4. Knock Sensor is under intake manifold, beside the throttle body and the plenum has to be removed to get at it.

My problem is that I kind of need a step by step instruction on how to get to it and then what I'm supposed to be looking at/for. I know and understand completly that's a tall order but I really want to do it myself and stay away from taking it to a shop. So if someone, anyone is willing to walk me though the process with maybe a couple pictures showing what to take off and where...well, I would be hugely in your debt.
