91 runner fuel pump? or what?

91 runner hesitates after long idle doesn't respond when gas is pushed but then slowly gets going. Also idles lower and lower at long lights and then when gas is pushed it fails to rev up, one time it wouldn't go at all and lunged thruogh the intersection, then I put it in N and reved before slipping back into drive, off I went. Had it looked at and test drove, they replaced the tps sensor and set it high I think, becouse now it wont idle low but all the same problems are there with the accelerater not responding at times. Could this simply be the fuel pump, I had the fuel filter replaced a couple months ago and things were running perfect then. Respectable shop says its not the trans but who knows. Please help a fellow toyota fool.

Are there any other possibilities, could it be the catalitic coverter? How would I know if the vacume lines are alright they all seem to be hooked up. Why would the truck run good sometimes and bad others on the same trip.

are u getting any codes? it can be a sensor that is bad or loose wire, or vacuum line that has a leak on the back side that unless u inspect it u wont know. i dont think it would be the cat. do u have the smell like rotten eggs coming from the tail pipe?

it is going to really be loud and it might not have much back pressure so it will pop and rev up quick.

Drove it without cat for a liitle, still seemed to have the same loss of power and non responsive accelerator. What would the symptoms be if the o2 sensor was faulty, maybe its that.

So I found that the egr and the vacume lines right in front were all cloged. One is actually completely clogged might have to bypass them with new line, also got a denso egr for 40 bucks new on ebay. Im hopefull this along with the new denso o2, that's also on the way whether I need it or not, will fix all my issues.
