Hello all. I've got a relatively desperate issue with my '91 3vze pickup. It randomly misses, hard. It does so under all conditions - at idle, under load, coasting off throttle. It does it cold, hot. Sometimes it will go days with no miss, sometimes it will miss every 1 or 2 minutes. I've been dealing with this issue for the two years. So far I've replaced : Distributor cap and rotor TWICE, sparkplugs TWICE, wires TWICE, replaced the coil setup with an MSD ignition w/blaster coil, replaced the igniter with a used igniter I bought off ebay, and more. (I even did the fuel filter) I think this all started the first time I did the plugs and wires.

I also had a terrible lean condition for a while that was heating up the oil and killing my oil pressure, so I dialed back the mixture with the AFM. Now I'm running extremely rich, but it isn't heating up like it did. The playing with the AFM didn't affect the missing at all. I installed an A/F gauge, but I have not hooked that up yet. I don't know if the lean condition is related - I may have knocked something loose the first time I did the plugs and wires, causing it to suck in air, but I doubt that would cause the missing. I'm really at the end of my rope - I've replaced the entire ignition system short of the ECU. The next thing will be the fuel pump, but I don't think that's possibly the issue, since fuel delivery SEEMS fine. I have no way to adapt to the banjo fitting to test it.
