91 4x4 pickup 3vze clutch problem

Hi, i am a new member to the forum but have been reading threads for quite a while.
I have a 91 4x4 pickup 3vze manual trans.

My problem has something to do with the clutch. Long story short I was driving the truck and all of a sudden I lost the clutch. When I pulled over I could slide the shifter into every gear without pushing the clutch in, but the truck would not move. It just reved really hi. When I got it home I checked the hydraulics and the slave is pushing the fork just fine. I am stumped! Help please!

P.S.-- I have checked for cracks in the pedal bracket already.

If you can put it in all the gears without the clutch depressed while stopped, you have serious problems.

When it revs up when you put it in gear, is the driveshaft spinning? If the driveshaft is spinning and the truck isnt moving, then the problem is likely the rear end. If its not, the problem is in the tranny somewhere.

Will the truck move if you engage the 4WD? Are you hearing any funny noises from the tranny or rear end? When you say you 'lost the clutch', did it go to the floor?

No it will not move in 4wd either. No sounds came from the trany or rear at all. The clutch pedal pops right back up like it should. I have not looked at the rear end or drive shaft. Didn't think of that. Thanks. I will check that tomorrow and report back. could this be a burnt out clutch though? It did smell a little when it reved up

I was driving and I down shifted and when I put it into gear she would hardly move so I pulled over and from there it wouldn't move anymore. It smelled awful, like a clutch usually does when it goes but I'm not sure what it really is.
