91 4X4 Clutch Vibration

I just purchased a 1991 V6 4X4 w/173k miles. (My
First Toyota) The previous owner said he just had the
clutch replaced. This truck has 3 or 4" lift kit.
Also, the molding around the transmission shifter does
not align with the floorboard.

My problem is when I start from a stop (From stop to
both First OR Reverse) I get a vibration/shudder until
the clutch is completely engaged.

I have read that this is due to a flywheel problem.
Should I replace the flywheel or get it resurfaced?
If replaced, what type is rec'd for best MPG's? How
long should the replacement take? (I have worked on
GM, Fords & Dodges but no Toyotas) Also, any step by step
proceedures would be great!

Thank You for your help

OK, When I take off fast from a start clutch feels good. When I start slow & easy I get the vibration.

Does this sound like I have the HD or Ceramic Clutch?

sounds like the flywheel is warped. i would just have it turned.and also if the clutch plate wasnt torged properly it could cause the same problem. so if you turn the flywheel and torge the clutch plate w/ a torge wrench you should be fine.

Sounds like they changed the transmission to a different model. That is why your cover does not match because the shifters got moved forward or backward. The clutch problem could be the flywheel but from my experiance the fingers on the clutch get worn on an angle or broken. Then the plate engages on an angle causing a shutter. You will have to pull the trans and have a look.
