Aloha, I have a 91 4runner 3.0 automatic and I just got it a couple of days ago and it ran fine but now if I turn off the truck n pull out the key it wont turn off and wen I pull the key themotor sounds like it wants to turn off but it just keeps running...if some one tell me why it does this and how to fix the problem...thank you and mahalo

 

does it run rough when you attempt to shut it off? does it lope? (i.e, the motor increases and decreases in rpms) it sounds like your still getting power at the coil and fuel pump, that could be your ignition in going out, does it have any codes?

 

thread moved to correct section. You could have leaky injectors causing the motor to Diesel.
