You wouldn't believe the wiggle room they have in their prices. Absolutely buy a Toyota HG set though and above all, get the head surfaced and checked.
Will do. Where should I buy and what brand head bolts? Thank you for your advise

I saw the best video that I have seen on building a 3VZE on youtube a while back and the guy used a set of studs in place of the bolts. I really liked the concept but don't know enough to steer you one way or the other on this. They look like they would make the job quite a bit easier. Anybody got any input on these head mounting studs?

I'm pretty sure IV seen the same video. The guy is using ARP studs and the engine is a metallic gold or burnt orange? I would LOVE to do those studs , but not looking to spend 200+$ on them. Orrrr should I? Hahaha

I went back with OEM. But at 10.50 each times 16, they are a big chuck of your parts bill.

I feel like us VZE owners should get some kind of card that entitles us to free head bolts and associated hardware needed to change the gaskets. I've got some bad valve seals but my engine has never blown a head gasket and I'm not about to unbolt those suckers over a little smoke at startup.

19.99$ a piece here in my neck of the woods. I can do ARP studs for that.
The card for free studs is definitely something that needs to be be considered. Sign me up!

Free studs would be awesome, or at least make them a reasonable price. I thought most of the part prices were reasonable except for the head bolts and some of the hoses...like the PCV hose at $16.44 for a short S shaped hose.

Not sure where you are located, but you can order on-line from these guys for $10.63 each. I order online and pick them up at the dealer, so no shipping, but I do have to pay tax. Search the part number 90910-02075 and you might find a better deal, but just be careful with the web sites that have names suggesting they are OEM but are not. I have a lot of part numbers from my recent job if you need them to help your search.
