Good tidbit on the lighting stuff though.

and thanks for the tire thing, I was unsure of it!
Maybe the headlight chime was standard on Canadian trucks because we had the DRLs before the US did, I know it was'nt part of the courtesy light package because I don't have them...

I have a 1993 Dlx xcab 4x4 and it has the headlight chime too.

I've been meaning to ask another question and this seemed like the place. Do all trucks have a low fuel light? I just have the base gauge package(no tach). I was just curious before I rip everything apart to check the bulb. It is such a little thing but a pain in the ass since I don't know the truck 100% yet.

Thanks,
Jason

No, the DLX instrument cluster does not have a low fuel light. if you have your owner's manual, I think it says it in there too.

can I get more of a consensus on the headlight chime here guys? tell me your year, etc and whether or not it has it.

thanks!

FWIW there is a kit you can buy on ebayUK for $19.99GBP about $40.00US that will give you keyless entry if you have power locks. includes two toyota key blanks to fit the fobs. I'll dig up the linky and post it here later...

here's the linky...http://cgi.ebay.com/FOB-Keyless-Entr...742.m153.l1262

Somebody probably shorted the wires so it will never beep, it is normal for my 93 to beep annoyingly for about 5 seconds or until you buckle up after starting it.

Was there ever an altimeter available as an option...I kinda remember reading that somewhere. Not the alt / pitch, roll cluster either.

Yeah I think there was an option for the alt. as a stand alone unit for the LC and for the pre-84 trucks.

never heard of it for 3g Pickups in the States. I do know that the hilux and surf, 3g and 2g respectively, had the option over seas. And I know that the 1g T4R's had them as an option. but beyond that, not that I know of.

Nah the stand alone alt. was never an option in NA and the inclinometer set was unavail. in NA after 87-88 I believe. It just was never that popular over here. If they could have worked a better way to mount it instead of the big doghouse on top of the dash and converted the gauges to imperial it might have sold better...
Now the electronic sets out of the JDM surfs cduff comes up with now and then would have been huge had they been offerred...
