90 4Runner Oil Pressure
Hello, I`m new to the board.
I`m asking to tap into the members past experiences & knowledge about my problem.
I have a 90 4wd 4Runner with the 3vze that by the console gauge has totally lost oil pressure. About a year ago, I had the engine pulled out and re-sealed after a head gasket blew. The gentleman that did the work is a certified Toyota mechanic with 24yrs of experience. He told me that it probably is a sending unit failure or electrical. I drained the oil and changed the filter. I also changed out the sending unit. I refilled with new oil and started the vehicle. I noticed that the gauge just barely moved but this is more than before. I turned the vehicle off and decided to remove the oil filter enough to break the seal and had my son start the vehicle and imediately shut it off while I watched. The oil gushed out. This tells me that I`m getting some pressure??? I don`t have a gauge to check for pressure. Can I assume that by doing this that it`s a gauge failure???
Could you some advice on this issue>>>THANXXX
