'89 truck with 22RE - No power
Still working on troubleshooting this issue - wanted you'all's input since most of you are very familiar with Toy's. Have not owned a Toy since 1988.
Truck is my son's - '89 pickup, 22RE (recently rebuilt). Running fine until last evening. Went to start, starter engaged and spun for a second, then nothing! No power to accessories, no dome light, no starter solenoid "clicking" etc.
Battery has 12.75 volts and power is going to and coming out of main fuses in engine compartment. Will do more checking-troubleshooting this evening.
Anyone have a suggestions as to a starting point ?? Suspicions (sp) are the ignition switch, but will continue checking connections, fuses, etc.
Appreciate evryone's help.

Sounds like a ground issue to me too.
When you're checking for power to the fuses, etc., where is the ground lead from the meter connected... frame, engine block or battery?
And you can mostly rule out the ignition switch if you can turn any lights on, including hazard lights since they do not get power through the switch. So no lights anywhere... not the switch.

Great advice guys - thanks.
Since I am so new to the Toy's, can you'all provide any diagrams, pics, etc that show me where all of the grounds are located???? I know of 4 in the engine compartment, are there others???
Thanks,
Mark

Well, to make a long story short.....I removed, cleaned and re-attached the grounds on the engine. Looks like the connection on the passenger side-bottom front of block was not making good connection. Started right up and is purring once again. Now I can work on breaking in the engine. Has only 82 miles on the engine after a complete re-build.
Thanks again for all the advice and pointers.

No connections were loose. Once I removed them, I cleaned each surface with steel wool to remove tarnish, paint, etc. then re-attached. Not exactly sure, but I suspect that the main ground did not have a good connection.
Thanks again guys.
