89 recall

Got the paperwork in the mail yesterday.

My 89 pickup has a steering rod issue. They say the rod can stress crack and break.

Is a 4 hr. fix and they say to just set up an appt and any sealer will do it.

They also said if it had already been done to send in the paperwork for reimbursement.

Jesus Scoob, little angry this morning?

gregs just be sure not to let the dealer tell you that they have to fix all kinds of other stuff once they get it in there. Some folks on here have had some serious issues getting the truck back after the "free" steering rod replacement.

Someone had to say it. There's a sticky and a billion threads on this already. Plus this post is pretty pointless and contains ZERO tech whatsoever.

when you go, if you want to get you t-bars cranked, then ask them to do that while they are there since they are gonna give you a FREE 4 wheel alignment...

No need to go there, it just so happens that the rules of the forum state that we as users here are all expected to do a search for a thread or conversation on the subject on your own before starting a new one. There are many threads on this very subject that simply by reading and adding your own brief and marginally informative post, you bump up to the top of the list, being just as effective in sharing the information with other casual browsers. Maybe you didnt need to be 'd so hard for it, but are indeed required to do at least that much to try and answer our own questions. As far as the 'I have a life' bit,

Man, I thought I was on the Pirate forum for a minute. I didn't about the recall, so thanks for bringing it up.

I guess the tech would be the cracking and failure of the steering rod, and it takes 4 hours to replace.
