'88 yota

So my sister and brother in law offered me her yota which she brought new in '88. I siad hell yueah! It's my second yota. I had a '78 2 wheel drive in CO as my snow beast to get to the basin and vail. I loved it, 4 studded snow tires and I was flyin by fords and chevy's up the pass. I think I love this one a little more!

So I wanted to get some opinions, pick yer brains. I was thinking about 31x10 BFG MT's because I had them on my J#@P in the eighties. But I think I'm gonna go smaller after seeing what this thing can do bone stock. I ordered some ranchos and am planning on putting 235x10x15 cooper mudders on my stock rims. the price is right at Pep Boys, Buy 3 get one free, that means a full size spare when I get the rebate. I believe I have 4:10's and I'm cautious to put the 31's on their wihtout gearing it.

As for the bed, It is rusted around the wells and lower portion but the inside of the bed is good cause of the teneua cover. I'm temtped to ripp her off and let my neighbor help me fab somehtin with his wire feeder. Suggestions and pics wanted!

Anyone here runnin stock 22re with 235 mudders and what is your feedback / recomendations. Thanks !

I ran 225 BFG A/T's on my old 87. Only complaint was that once they filled with mud they were like racing slicks until you hit the road at speed. I'm saving this summer for mud terrains and some steel wheels so I can swap them out for trail and street. You've got yourself a tough little truck, maybe lift it with rear shackles, crank the torsions in the front then have it aligned so you don't wear out your tires.

Watch out in those mountains, I just got a ticket driving back from Breckenridge from a state trooper. He got me with a laser from about 300 yards away...84 in a 55 (I was going downhill). I have to appear in court...

I cranked my torsion bars on my 89 and had nothing but problems. Torn cv boots, u-joints etc.
