87 with a temper

I have a 87 pickup 4cyl that will blow white smoke when it feels like it. What I mean is it does not do it every day nor at a certain time. You can start it up run it all day bring it home park it and go out to run again and bam white smoke til ta start down the road then it goes away. And it may not come back for days..What gives ??? This is a thick white smoke when it does it.

Thanks for the help

x2. The HG isn't blown yet but it's going to go soon. Pull the head and replace it before it gets worse.
