My '87 pickup that i bought recently seems to be down on power quite a bit. The guy i bought it from said it could use a carb cleaning, but I talked to a shop owner and he said that if it's shooting a nice steady stream of gas then to leave the carb alone. The stream of gas seems fine to me.. But i still wonder if i cleaned it if it would help it get it's power back.? There has to be something that's causing it to be slower than it should be. It has headers and a magnaflow exhaust so it really should go not too bad.
Do you guys have any ideas or suggestions on what to check/ look for? Should i get a carb rebuild kit? Just looking for some opinions/ ideas.
