87 4runner - Shock Suggestions?

I've done quite a bit of searching/reading here but I've not been able to come to a decision. I've got a 87 4runner that's strictly a farm/hunting rig. I just did the Zuk mod to the rear, going to either crank the torsion bars or do a 1.5" ball joint spacer on the front. Probably 90% of use is off pavement (a lot of dirt roads). It's only driven maybe once or twice a week, and sometimes less than that. When it is driven, it's typically no more than a mile or two. I'd say we average somewhere between 50-100 miles a month. It's still got OEM shocks on it and they are totally shot. Looking for some replacement suggestions, and hoping to stay as cheap as possible. I know Bilsteins are a great option, but I'm not looking to spend that much. Ideally I'd get something a little longer than OEM that will work better with the lift, but haven't seen many options. I've looked at Procomp and Rancho, but from what I've read here neither are a good option. Looked at KYB Monomax but seem to get mixed reviews. Any suggestions for low budget shocks that will offer decent quality?

i wouldn't go for bilsteins either in your situation...
i am running cheapo pro comp es3000s up front that i had laying around the house and skyjacker hydro 7000s from summit racing in the rear, and if i had to do it again...i'd get the same skyjackers all around. mind you i have a solid front axle so it will always be a bit rough. my personal experience.

I went cheap and got skyjacker m95s for front and rear. I have no complaints so far, and they didn't break the bank. Also lifetime warranty....

Monroe's on the Front, Gabriels on the Rear

I have an 87 Pickup, I live down a dirt road that is very ruff and sometimes extreamly muddy. My truck gets beat like no bodys buisness everyday. I was in the same boat you are looking for somthing that will hold up to rough conditions. I put Monroe, Gas-Matics on the front and have been running them for about 6 months now and so far so good. I was having some slight clearence issuses with the fuel tank so I went with Gabrial Air Shocks in the rear, I have been running those for about a year now and they have been great, the only downfall is about every 2 to 3 months they need to have a slight boost as they loose 5-8psi just like a tire would.

All in all this set up did not break the bank and is very comfortable and safe.

Good luck.
