I searched and cant find much info on the 1st gen power locks. For a while they would work perfect for a week or so then it would start requiring a few up and down pushes of the drivers lock to get the passenger lock to go with. Then it just quit and nothing would work, then about 2 weeks ago it worked for a few days then started acting up like before and its completely not functional again.

Im really not sure where to start with this one so if anyone could help with some ideas that would be great!

sounds to me like you have a loose connection. have you pulled the door panels to inspect the wiring?
how about the wiring where it comes out of the door frame into the door?
