'87 4runner - Manual tran. won't shift after warming up
I'm new to the forum. I just recently purchases an '87 4runner. It is a great truck, manual transmission.
After the truck warms up it becomes difficult to shift into the lower gears (1st and 2nd gear). Before warming up the transmission shifts great. I can still get it into gear after it warms up but it is extremely difficult.
Anyone have any ideas on where I can start?

I would start with changing the gear oil always break loose the fill plug before draining the transmission
if you have eliminated the clutch hydraulics it does not hurt to look at the fluid it might be due for a change.
When getting a new vehicle to you there is always going to be some maintenance catch up
