86 Pickup differential bearings

so i got the new complete genuine gear master install kits for both the front and rear for my truck today and took them into the shop that's working on my truck. they showed me the old bearing and compared it with the bearing i got in the new kit... they don't match up. the new bearing is physically taller by about 1 or 2 eigths and the bearings are longer than the original. does this make sense to anyone??

please help

Several questions you need to get answered IMO.

Is that the OEM Toyota rearend?

Did you get the right master install kit?

Was the "old" bearing the one they broke?

If all those questions can be answered "yes" then...

Can the shop your truck is at find their butt with both hands?
