86 Motor 88 Engine Bay Wire Harness??

I have been having issues with my 22RE 86 pickup 4x4 for a while - the wiring harness on it is pretty butchered up and continues to cause problems... I picked up an 88 wire harness of a 4x4 with a 22RE. What I do know is the 88's have different injectors because of the resistance value and connector type, so I am probably going to have to put 88 injectors in mine, it is my understanding the ECU from the 86 will be OK with the 88 wiring harness. has anyone done a similar swap where they could share some of their findings, tips, etc?? Cheers!

Please research high impedance and low impedance fuel injectors. (I don't think the TCCS ECU can run those injectors without frying it's driver circuits)

Also the 88 has the dlc as part of its engine harness where your 86 includes this as part of the body harness (diagnostics on the left fender (TCCS), vs 2nd gen EFI (dlc on distribution block))

You might be better off fixing your harness or swapping to a later model ECU and altering your body harness'..

Exactly what are your issues currently?

Thanks for the reply. Been having issues with multiple check engine codes coming on. I took the old harness out today and found one broken wire and 2 other wires that had a good amount of rubbing on them with broken wiring, fixed them, put the harness back together and seems to have fixed my problems.
