sorry if this has been covered before, i did try and search.

i am in the process of looking into an 86 pick-up, like most older yotas there is some rust, only BODY. i can get what i need from toyotafiberglass.com, the only problem is that is has a flatdeck, which i really don't like at all. now i know that toyotafiberglass.com has beds for this appication, the good part is that i don't really live all that far away from them (half day trip MAX). does anyone have any other ideas or know of other vendors??? (besides junkyards)

put out a want ad i suppose, not really a whole lotta options other than just building a flat-bed or something to your liking.

I personally can't wait to get rid of my prestine bed and build on a custom flatbed and exo .... but that'll have to wait till I have more $ LMAO

 

There is a guy up here that makes Toyota beds, but if I recall correctly, he was charging $1800 for a full bed.

What I suggest doing is maybe finding a Toyota bed that has a good deck and build around it. If you do decide to take the fiberglass route, at least you'll be able to save yourself some money by just buying bedsides, as long as you don't mind doing the work.

What I did with my bed was cut out all the rust along the bedsides, and then I shaped some sheet metal to match the factory body lines and welded them in place.

thanks for the input guys...hopefully i get this truck, $900 with 200,000 km, it's a sweet deal...and drew303 i dont think where you are is all that from me, maybe we can work something out if you decide to go that route
