86 4runner over heating issues
Hi Guys,
So... my 86 4runner is having cooling issues. When driving on the freeway, temperature starts to climb with the dash switch to HEAT and full hot on the temp control thing. If I move the dash switch to vent, keep the temp control thing on hot, the temp immediately drops to better than normal, cool conditions.
So far I have:
1. New radiator, hoses
2. Fixed a leaky heater hose... Now I can see no visible leaks cracks etc in any cooling hose.
3. Full flush
I've been reading up, and think it maybe the tstat? I have a friend I work with to thinks it maybe the plastic elbow thing located in the heater tube? Any ideas?
Thanks,
EtonT

replace the thermostat. its only like 7 bucks. you may have a leak in the system? did you get all the air bubbles out when you put in the new rad?
