86 4runner bolts

Hello, this is my first post. Ok here goes, I bought my son an 86 4runner with no engine, the previous owner had robbed it for his truck. I bought a used engine, and rebuilt it stock, the problem I have is that we have none of the nuts or bolts to install the the engine or any of the accessories. Does anyone have any idea where I may be able to find all of this. I tried the local junk yards but they said no way. I don't want to have to make trip after trip to the hardware store or parts house if I can help it. Any help would be great.
Thanks, Al

Go to a junkyard that lets you take parts off yourself. Then just grab all the bolts you can. They don't usually charge for bolts. Whenever I go I usually grab a 10, 12, and 14mm wrench and grab all the nuts/bolts I can get to easily. Then I get a Phillips and flat screwdriver and grab all the screws from the interior and whatever small parts they don't care about. I have a lot of OEM Toyota hardware, blanks, and interior bits laying around for when something goes missing.

As far as I know, there is no master list of bolts for the truck.

So it really will be a scavange hunt.

Make a list of the bolts you think you need and where.
Get VIN. Go to the dealer and order them. New, clean and proper length and size.

One thing to consider is the size of the bolt head. Toyota uses JIS bolts, so an 8mm bolt has a 12mm head. http://www.boltdepot.com/fastener-in...Head-Size.aspx An ANSI standard bolt (which is what a hardware store would carry, if it had any metric fasteners) has a 13mm head.

I don't know of any place where it is impossible to use a slightly larger head, but it is annoying that I have to keep my 13mm socket available for a single bolt.
