7mgte swap

Hey guys, I'm gonna be putting a 7mgte in my 91 pickup, and I'm trying to get all the info I can, obviously it's been done. I wanna keep it 4x4 so I need to know what the big problems are gonna be and what transmission I'm gonna need, can someone help me out or point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance... I've been told this is the place to ask this

Go to search, go to advanced search, search titles only and type in 7mgte.

I went to search, then advanced search and titles only. Typed in "7mgte" and 44 threads pulled up.

I have the engine here most all the goodies..

I decided I like the 3.4 engine better it fits a whole lot easier.

The 7MGTE is 6" longer then the 22rec

I had planned to move the radiator support forward 6 " so I could run the stock fan and radiator .

Truth be told when I put that project on hold things I had learned got pushed to the back of my brain.

I found the best way to search for stuff on yotatech is to use google type in the search box like this; "7MGTE swap site:www.yotatech.com" without quotations of course It will come up with every thread pertaining to what you put in, I find it delivers much better results than the forum search box. Happy wrenching

*And on that expedition portal thread only has the straight 5vzfe #s.

From site:
"3VZ-E, 3.0L, 150 HP@4800, 180 Ft-Lbs@3400
5VZ-FE,3.4L, 190 HP@4800, 220 Ft-Lbs@3600
5M-GE, 2.7L, 143 HP@5200, 154 Ft-Lbs@4400
7M-GE, 3.0L, 199 HP@6000, 188 Ft-Lbs@3600
7M-GTE,3.0L, 232 HP@5600, 254 Ft-Lbs@3200, 5psi"

The supercharged 3.4 5vzfe beats the turboed supra. On the Toyota Tacoma, the supercharged 3.4 had 254 hp and 270 lb-ft torque... Should be similar #s in our rig. Based upon my research the supercharged 3.4 is one of the most powerful, all-round performance engines we can fit in our trucks, including against current gen turbo-ed and intercooled diesels...

There is a lot of information out there to find.

much more then any one of us could type in several hours.

Just what kind of skills do you have ??

All the other things is where it gets interesting!!

The running of the exhaust

the merging of the vehicle and engine harness

thinking of what sort of cooling system to use
