65 mph top speed... it sucks!

ok compression check.. #1 150 #2 148 #3 152 #4 150
very little improvement... 4th gear is somewhat useable, still not gonna pull ANY kind of incline, and you can forget 5th gear all together!!! I know the 32 inch tire im running gonna kill it somewhat, but to loose a complete gear, no. 60-65mph all i can get out of her. After 1/2 throttle, theres no more while in gear. If you push the clutch in, she'll rev up fine.. Drinking gas like theres a hole in the tank...... Im at a loss on her.

just came back after driving around a few... well, jumped on the interstate, 2800 rpm in 5th, about 65mph, and that was it..she started loosing mpg. pedal to the floor.... dropped down to 4th and not any better.... I advanced the timing a few (5*), and played with the idle screw, now you have to pump the fuel pedal a few times b4 she decides to start... keep in mind, its EFI and not carb. Much more of this, and a for sale sign will be put in the windshield.

The idle screw won't do anything. Possibly vacuum leak, I don't know. Where I live no divided highways so I just never go over 65mph as speed limit is 55. My truck is around 3000 RPM at 65 MPH with the 31" tires.

Perform dynamic test on the VAFM, it should have a nice smooth curve in resistance from closed to open.
Do the same with your TPS. In addition check the VTA voltage output from the TPS at the ecu.
Disconnect the exhaust at the end of the intermediate pipe (after of the exhaust manifold, and ahead of the catylitic converter) to eliminate a collapsed cat or muffler.
Check the fuel pressure and flow rate..
Exactly what tires and rims are you running and how much cargo are you hauling. The rotational mass and cargo load are very important factors. If you're running 32" mud tires, sporting plate bumpers at both ends, have it lifted in any way, loaded down when the tools, and uh don't fit in the seat very well these are all gonna be hard to overcome on a 100hp engine.

the tps is new, and set correctly. the vafm test out fine. Havent checked fuel pressure or flow.
I was going to hack off the cat sometime this week, but even with it own, the exhaust flow at the tail pipe is steady, and hot (normal), not burnning hot as if the cat was clogged up.
Tires are a 32 inch mud tire, 15" alum. wheels... small brush guard on the front, stock bumber on the front, no rear bumper. Only cargo is me, 200lbs

went back and rechecked timing... my dumbazz had it way to advanced, jumped the wrong terminals in the diagnostic port. So i reset to 0, and avanced it to 12btdc. I'll drive it to work tonight, see how she does. Forgot to mention in yesterdays post, 2nd gear, about 3200rpm, she seems to "wake up" ... IDK

Pull the GND connection from the battery for a few sec so it forgets it's memory? (not sure it even has memory lol)

i didnt drive her last night... took off to go to work, and the right frt caliper stuck on me... glad i was in the drive instead of on the main road... as soon as i get it fixed.. I'll update. That maybe in a week or so, bills to pay 1st.

Peak torque is somewhere in the 2800-3600 range, so I'm not surprised you can feel it pulling there in second.
