4wd gear question

my toyota truck shifts into 4L and 4H fine with no problems, but when I go to disengage it, it doesnt want to unless I kinda of force it to. it used to disengage easily with no force. any ideas as far as what it might be?

thanks

Mine is next to impossible to get out when the driveline is bound up - like after making a sharp turn on high traction surface.

Maybe you are comparing different conditions (winter wet/slippery vs summer dry/tractive)?

Always hard to get out here too...

I try to line up where I can drive straight long enough to get it loose, then I drive slowly forward and stop and start while pushing on the 4wd shifter and it will finally pop out with a nice loud pop.

It's always been like that...
