4wd actuator issues

Hey everybody,
so i recently did a tranny swap on my '93 pickup with a 3.0L and the A340H auto tranny. Now, I was faced with the problem of my 4wd indicator light continuously flashing when i shifted into 4wd. I was told it was either a vacuum issue or a bad actuator. I have since replaced BOTH the actuator and the vacuum lines, and the damn light still flashes. Also, I noticed that before i switched out the actuator, my front driveshaft was locked, even in 2wd. since the swap, there is more play in spinning of the drifeshaft but it is still engaged. so what is there left to replace? I can hear one of the vacuum sensors (or whatever you hook the actuator vac lines to on the side of the firewall) clicking at the same frequency of the 4wd light. what is there left to do? Could the actuator claw not be lined up properly on the collar on the axle or what? this is driving me nuts...its the last thing holding me back.
