4wd and 2wd Mirrors

Are the 4wd mirrors larger than 2wd?

Mirror size and style is not determined by 2wd or 4wd. Its determined by however they built the truck. There are two basic styles. Skin mount (middle of the door) and Sail mount (corner next to the window)

If you have sail mount mirrors on your truck, you COULD find 90-95 4Runner mirrors as they are about 2x the size, and the make both power and manual options.

Okay, cool!

I was wondering because I noticed on the newer Tacomas the 4x4 trucks, or even the "Prerunner" 2wd trucks have larger mirrors than the regular 2wd ones.

Deathcougar, do you have any 90-95 4Runner Sailmount manual mirrors available?

I find I have trouble seeing much with mine...

I'm going to guess that mine's a "skin mount" since I have the wing windows, which pushes the mirror away from the nose of the vehicle.

The passenger mirror is loose, so I want to take it off to see what can be done to fix that. A quick 2min look didn't reveal any obvious way to get it off of the door. The FSM is amazingly short in this area, also.

nevermind. I got it pulled and tightened the screw on the spring. We're all good now.
