4runner towing capabilities???

Let me begin by saying im sorry since i know this has to be covered somewhere already. I must be special cause i have searched but cant find anything.

I bought a 94 4runner. I also bought an 89 pickup. I would like to turn the 4runner into a dd and light wheeler and tow the pickup on a trailer. The pickup will be a devoted trail rig.

I have searched and not really found anything. Might be because im on my phone.

The moral of the story is will I be able to tow the wheeler with the 4runner???

Is it terrible???? I have a silverado but i would actually love to sell that and just have yotas. I have a passion for yotas the chevy just doesnt move me. I could keep it and tow with it if need be but rather not.

I only own to trucks ones a 87 other is 93. I tow with both of them. Here's what I did to upgrade my towing limits.

Eliminated the LSPV (50/50 brakes)
4.88 gears
Heavy duty hitch (bolts to sides and bottom of frame)
Trailer wiring and electronic brakes controller

I will soon add one extra leaf just for caring capacity. My trailer is about 7' wide and 16' long. It's weight is around 1,000 maybe more. I can and have hauled over 2 ton on it and pulled it with my 93 toyota. The one pictured. So I can say that I have pulled over 2.5 ton with my truck with ease. That includes some highway traveling. I can cruise at 70 MPH or 80 if I want. Now on steep grades I sometimes have to down shift to 4th or 3rd depending on my speed. Keep in mind that my 93 is a 22re and my 87 is a 22R. Both tow extremely well IMO. Now I've never owned anything larger then a Dodge Dakota which is really a mid size truck. So I'm saying mine tows great however someone use to a full size my say it tows like ˟˟˟˟.

Anyways these toys are great all around vehicles. They can be used for Multiple things

I like the idea of four door and more inside space for kids and dogs. So if i can tow with 4runner i will.

I keep my silverado for towing and road trips much more comfy on a 800+ mile jog. And it pulled my complete parts truck on a tandem axel car hauler like it wasn't there.
