If you suspect the ignition switch, why don't you rig up a jumper? That would make sure the switch never cut out. If you continue having the problem, then you've eliminated the ignition switch.

Well, i checked the TPS being that both codes suggested the TPS and it was out of adjustment so I went ahead and adjusted it. Seems to have fixed the problem but I havent gotten on the highway yet so after I do that I will update with info.. What would happen if I had a bad charcoal canister? I read that you should be able to blow compressed air through it?!? I tried and no air what so ever will come out of the hook ups... Does it sound like I have a bad canister?

Ok, so I went 90 miles and it "stalled" once when I first got on the highway but hasn't done it again! Hopefully that was my problem, so you guys with the same problem try adjusting your TPS according to this TPS adjustment site!

Mine started up again maybe yesterday... I'm not sure what it could be, I've replace all kinds of stuff. I was thinking the ignition module. But it can't be tested, and my wallet is empty lol. So I'm not sure what to check next

when it cuts out momentarily... and then starts right back up .. chances are it starts right back up because you have a 5spd so its like compression starting the truck. Does it happen when you make a sharp turn? does it happen when you go over a bump?

I'm not sure what you mean about the grounds on the intake. And no its completely random. Its usually at higher speeds.

i found what was causing mine to do this. i had 2 vac lines crossed from the egr and the fuel pressure. on the 3.0 they are right there together and its easy to cross them up. the pre owner had the timing belt changed before i bought it and i guess he gotem crossed up. not saying thats whats causing your to do it but its worth looking into!!

thanks everybody for the help!!!!

if your truck is fuel injected. there is a ground wire that has to be ground on the intake in order for your fuel injection to work properly on your 22re...

if you stall out when u turn the wheel it maybe, due to a bad power steering pump boggie downt the engine.

The OP said that when the thing cuts out, the RPMs drop to 0. Since he's presumably in gear, and it's a manual transmission, the RPMs won't really be dropping to 0, since the transmission will be driving the engine. That means that something's losing electrical power, and there's either no electronic signal coming into the tach, or maybe even the tach is losing electrical power along with the engine.

If these facts are straight, there's really no point in looking elsewhere.

The OP posted on my thread since we both are having/had the same problem and here is what seemed to have fixed it for me.

So I dont know if this helps or anything but It has not happened to me in the last 600 miles. The only thing I did was replace the air intake silencer with my own intake system and when I did that I cleaned the throttle body. SO maybe it has something to do with the intake.

Tonight I went out and tore off my Throttle body and cleaned the hell out of it.. I literally took 3 hours just scrubbing the inside of the TB. I went for a ride up and down the highway running high RPM's since it used to do it at higher RPM's and now it doesn't seem to be doing it! *IF YOU ARE HAVING A THIS PROBLEM I HIGHLY SUGGEST TAKING OFF YOUR THROTTLE BODY AND CLEANING IT! I WILL POST THE LINK TO THE FSM FOR THE THROTTLE BODY!* It gave me quiet a bit of power I never knew it had! I now have the power to spin some 31's no problem... Here is the link I found here on YT for the FSM this is the direct link to the Throttle Body section!

I also made sure my TPS wasn't out of Adjustment! I used this site to adjust the TPS, I had those link given to me in another thread I started!

I don't think that is free horsepower lol, I believe its horsepower I was robbed of by the carbon build up! I used terry towels with some carb cleaner (The FSM said to use carb cleaner so I figured it would be ok!) and the 3 terry towels I used were literally COMPLETELY black!
