I have got a set of 1st Gen 4Runner front seats installed in my '81 Trekker by a previous owner. The passenger seat has never really functioned correctly. I am going to replace the return springs for the sliders and locking mechanism. The cable mechanism seems to be releasing as it should.

My question: Is there supposed to be an additional long return spring on the outside bracket like the inside bracket? It llooks on one bracket there is a provision of the back of the bracket for one but not towards the front..



yeah the seats are in kind of crappy shape but am planning on replacing them in the spring just need to get this one in functioning shape for now...

Actually fixed my sliding issue with some general clean up and a new set of springs...$8 in new springs from ace and a little grease the sliders like a new one...for now
