4runner mirrors on pickup

Had two bad mirrors on my truck so I ordered a replacement set for a 4runner to get the bigger size and the breakaway feature. Got the kool-vue mirrors. They seem to be high quality and well built. Bolted right on, but they seem like the detent that holds them open is in the wrong spot. I have to have the mirrors themselves adjusted to the extents of their travel to get close to the right spot, but still not ideal. Can the detent location be adjusted on these?

I swapped my 92 4R mirrors onto the now 92 ex cab PU.
They work fine, But I am tall and have the seat all the way back and the ex cab pu seats also go 2" back farther then 4R seats.

Maybe and issue with aftermarket, Wonder if there is a way to put another set of detent marks in them.
