4runner jerks left

i was driving fine on the interstate the other day, then suddenly my 4runner started pulling left, in a jerking motion, not a gradually drifting, so i pulled over to see if i had a flat cuz it felt like almost my tire was flat. drove it off the highway and pulled into a lot to check out some steering stuff, well i noticed my tie rod ends were real loose, well i changed them all, and admittidly the ride feels better, but there is still a jerk to the left, any other recommondations? please help

thanks

A little more info about your truck may help. Pulling to one side could be a dragging brake caliper, hub locked in on one side, wheel bearing, alignment, tire getting ready to fail.

Did you get the alignment done? If the toe is way out it might cause jerking. And the alignment is out at all it will eventually destroy the tires.

i didn't go get a laser alignment, the problem occured on friday, then i changed the tierods, and now still quick jerks to the left, but its not all the time. different speeds it still does it. i don't have manual hubs, i also measured from tierod end to tierod end to make sure it was up to spec, also i measured from outer tread to outer tread on the front and back of the front tires. it seeemed all matched up.

Check the lower control arm cam bolts are tight. Ive had them loosen up after wheeling trips, throw my alignment out and move around while driving, causing jerking one way or another. Jack one ( or both) front wheels off the ground, support the front end by the cross-member, not but the lower arm(s). Pull outwards towards the tire. Watch the lower arm mounts.

I would jack up the left front wheel and rotate it by hand and see if the bearing feels rough. Disintegrating bearings can cause intermittent jerking.

4Runner jerks suddenly and randomly to the left

Did you figure out what was wrong?

mine started doing it on the interstate .

had to slow down and it stopped. If I went over 60 it started again.

I had to keep reducing speed.

it got to where I had to drive side streets at 20 mph and was jerking to the left every 10 seconds or so .

steering wheel would jerk .5” to 1” to the left.

i got home and it sit a hour .

buddy came over and drove it to see what it was doing . It wouldn’t do it .

we drove 20 minutes at 20 - 60 mph , it would not repeat it.

thinking it has to do with heat building up at high speed and then it gets worse , or liquid of some kind in it had pressure build .

it sitting a hour stopped it from doing it .

need to figure out what is wrong to fix it , I won’t drive it on interstate until it’s fixed .

Replaced the driver side CV Axle and it hasn't done it again. Drove 3 hours at a time severl times on interstate, and it drives fine. We couldn't find any tears or holes or rips on the CV Axle boot, but the grease that had come out must have been coming out a small hole or something some where in it. Also, I remembered I had replaced that CV Axle from a torn boot years ago with a aftermarket one, so it seems the aftermarket ones don't hold up as well as the OEM ones. The right passenger side CV Axle is the original, has never been replaced.
