4Runner diff's or hogs head

Hey All, got a 86 4Runner. Is the front and rear hogs head (differential) the same? Are they interchangeable. Thanks....Jack

Hogs head....wtf. haha. The front is a 7.5" 27 spline. The rear is a 8" 30 spline. Not interchangeable.

Read through some of the threads that are "sticked" at the top of this forum....they might have the answers you are looking for rather than creating a new thread for it.

Uh ... no ... and a brief look under your truck should have shown you that ...

Usually, we refer to the front diff as a "chunk" and the rear as a "third" (as in thirdmember)
