4runner clutch/transmission noise
I'm looking at buying an 85 4runner(wrong section I know.. but it's the transmission and getting a response in the 85/84 section is like getting more power out of a 3vze)tomorrow and the clutch or transmission makes a weird whine/winding kind of noise in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th gears. If I pushed the clutch in, it seemed like it would go away. And in 4th gear it wasn't there.
Do you guys have any ideas as to what could be making noise like that? It's not like grinding or crunching noise, it sounds like a low whining sound that spools up as the gears turn faster.

Say, My truck makes that noise in 5th only. Its been doing it for the ~6k miles since I bought it, never gave me any more issues than its difficult to carry on a conversation.
But if I had the money a rebuild would be number one priority.
