4Runner cargo panels

Been working on these for some time now. Lots of trial and error, adjustments to be made, alterations, and test fits. Anyways here are my ABS rear cargo panels. I decided to design them to use the oem cargo doors in the end. One of my trial runs was going to use some lockable marine batches but in the test fit there wasn’t enough backspace because of the jack and such. My final design has a stud that I use a solvent to bond onto the band of the panel to mimic the oem panel. They don’t curve at the tail end but they do follow the body “S” curve. I sold a couple sets to some guys that asked for them over social media. They’re 3/16 ABS and I milled down the front lip to 1/8” so the overlap sits flush.

So are you selling these? They look great, I'd be in for a set.

I have sold a few set, they take me a few days to get off the table and I have I buy another sheet of ABS, also after I bind the little jump for the door latch it takes about 24 hours for the solvent to do its work. DM me if your interested. I’ve been doing them at 175 for a pair.

Was going to start on my own set. I was measuring and thought a 16"x48" piece of ABS per side would do it (or do I need longer to properly meet the back seats panel). I hoped to have enough from a 4x4 sheet to do both sides and a 12x48 piece for the tailgate.

That should do it, mine only overlap about an inch maybe less. I buy industrial sized sheets because it’s cheaper, I get 3 pairs our on one sheet.

I was debating picking up a 4x8 sheet, which would give me enough for the door panels as well (24x34ish).

I am missing the original panel access doors as well. I was thinking about using small boxes, but that is out, not useful. So trying to figure out what to do for panel doors. Thinking about some of the electrical/remodeling access panel doors available at Lowes/HD, and painting them black.

Thanks for the good pics.

i went through several ideas before I landed back to using the one doors. The issue is that there is virtually no back space in that area because of the braces and jack and such. Some guys just put a piano hinge on a piece of plastic with a latch on it. Not as clean looking but it works.

long story short, kind of. I'm making batches but not in the volume I was due to being in the middle of a job transition and a move out of state. I no longer do any kind of "dibs" or pre orders because its a colossal PITA. FCFS on the etsy page right now.
