I did some wheeling tonight and when i went to put it in 2h it wouldnt come out of 4h i tried driving in a circle and that didnt help so i thought i was f'd in the a drove down the road and tried it again and it was fine
is something wrong here

Normally if this happens to me i just shut my rig off, put it in 2, turn it back on...

Sometimes the driveline will bind a little, happens to me now and then. Next time you might try backing up for a few feet while applying pressure to the t-case stick.

IMO, driving in a circle makes it worse. When mine gets a bind in it, whether im driving or sitting, I put the wheels straight, and if you're stopped, it helps to roll forward or backwards some.

well not exactly a circle it was a small parking lot. i didnt want it to start hopping and such. should i be in N when i shift into 4h or any of the options

still, it makes it easier to shift when the wheels are straight, atleast from my experience. Its not necessary to have the clutch in and it out of gear. Sometimes it helps when you're stopped. When you're driving, all you need to do is let up on the accelerator. I recall reading *somewhere* though that its good to push in the clutch and take it out of gear when switching if you are driving. as for switching to other options, you should be at a stand still when switching from 4hi to 4low. Or perhaps under 5mph. It should say somewhere on your truck or in the owners manual, or some service manual.

easiest thing to do is to just drive in 4H about 5 er 6 miles per hour, then just push forward on the t-case shifter, and watch it fall into 2H position

fact is, there's no center differential between the front and rear drive shaft, and when making turns, your front end will cover more ground than the rear while the driveline is trying to make them cover the same mount of ground, therefore causing tention in the drive-line and causing it to "lock up" if you will...
