... and keep in mind I was using an approximation of PI = 3.14159... and not all tires are what they claim- a 30" tire could be 30.1" or a 30.7", a 31" could be 30.8" to just below 32", etc. it all depends.

My auto came with 4.10s (check my sig).
I went to 33s and my 3.slow was way doggy.
Went into second on some hills that I always took in third.

I hate to burst your bubble but 4.10's will kill your truck with 35's.

I ran mine for a week with 35 x 12.5's (after some minor pinch weld trimming and Pro Comp 4" lift) and it sucked so bad the fuel mileage is going to go to the *hitter your power will follow right behind and hope you don't have to pull any kind of a hill with them 4.10's and 35's.

Even with the 5 speed I HATED IT and so will you go right to the 5.29's or 5.71's if you want but them 4.10's are going to add so much stress on the truck it will be ridiculous.

Trust me I did it and hated it everyday for a week solid with an 86 mile round trip to work and home on hill's and flat ground.

anyone want to take my tire circumferences and correlate how many inches are travelled with each engine revolution, based on gearing, starting with 4:10, then 4:56, 4:88, 5:29 and 5:71?

I meant it as running on 5.29s on the street so that its wasnt so slow. Was just joking. I think he should just put off the 35s till hes got both gear sets.

I think I am just going to put the 529 diff in the front then put the 35's on for a few pics then run my 33's tell I get a
529 rear diff. I want to find a used rear diff because pre built there like $900 and I dont think my dad will help me re gear another diff because its a pain in the ass.

I was running bj spacers on top of a bracket lift and a body lift and could just barely clear the 36's I have on the truck. As a matter of fact, with a 3.5" spring and a 4" block and a 3" bl I could still stuff the rears into the fenders on an extreme compression. Just last week I took out the bj spacers and the rear blocks to see how the truck rides and sits without them and I still sit above the tires but I'm pretty sure the front will rub but I'm not sure how much yet. I have to wait for the rain to stop before I can do any alignment on it. If it does rub it won't be really bad.

Standard cab trucks sit a lot higher than xcab trucks do, and the older style xcab trucks sit higher than the newer ones do. I see people talk about running 33's with no lift and 35's with bj spacers and laugh. When I first got my truck I put 32's on it and even with a tbar crank I rubbed so bad it ripped my mud flap off turning around in a parking lot. I ran the 3" bl with the 32's for about 13 years and decided it was time to go bigger. Personally, I'd rather clear the tires with lift than hack, pound and trim to get over them. I'll let you know how bad my rub is after I get to drive it.

Get the 5.29 gears for 35s. Another thing to consider besides just the tire diameter is the weight of a tire. 35s are pretty heavy tires especially ones with a decent width. I have 35 x 12.50 x 15 and they are pretty heavy. Thats a lot of rotating mass to get moving.

How much does zuk charge? I have done gears before with my dad and it was hard to know if they were setup right. Pulling the third is easy I can do that in 20 min with air tools.

wow, really ovrrdrive? Maybe standard cab trucks do sit higher, because i was running 32x11.50s with no lift for a while and it only rubbed a little at full lock. I put bj spacers on and it hasnt rubbed since. I dont know if i would be able to fit 33x12.50s under there though..

I messed with the truck a little today and I think that after I trim the front valance it will at least be drivable. Right now I can get it to rub the valance just by popping the clutch.

i am running 35s with just a 4inch and only rub when fully flexed in the back and have only rubbed the pinch weld once or twice
i dont know waht everyone was complaining about when they say that 35s on stock gearing will suck it really isn't that bad... i have a 3.0 5 speed and i can hold 70 up most hills if i try hard and i can go 80 when its flat it i want i dont use 5th gear that much anymore as long as you are a little patient it wont be a big deal
heres a pic
