3vze pointers

Im getting ready to pull the heads on my 3vze. Any pointers on this? I pulled them when I worked at the dealership but it's been 5 years since I've really worked on one of these engines. I assume start with taking the intake off and go from there. Any tips here guys?

Look here for steps:

Be sure to mark your vacuum hoses in such a way that it will be easy to put back together. By new head bolts. Do not re-use your old ones.

Engnbuilder or Partsdinasour are a great place for parts and more.

Also, do a search and you'll find a lot of tips on removing the crankshaft pulley bolt, cam pulley bolts and other tricky things along the way.

Best of luck.

Loosen the exhaust crossover pipe and remove the nuts from the driver's side. That way, you can pull the driver's side head with the manifold attached and remove it later. Then the passenger side head can be pulled with the manifold and crossover. They are much easier to remove from the heads outside of the engine bay.

Replace the knock sensor wire if it's looking "iffy". Good luck!
