bigger brakes
I have noticed in the newer truck form guys are putting tundra brakes on runners and tacomas.
My question is this, can I put T100 brakes on my 92? Do T100's have bigger rear brakes too? I think this would be a decent upgrade.

Someone said the knuckles are different on Tundra's and our gen of pickups/4runners, when I asked in the general board. But if someone did it successfully I'd be all ears.
The other thing to consider is that supposedly the SR5 pickup, and the 4runner rotors from our generation, have larger/better/heavier duty rotors than the brakes found on Deluxe V6 Pickups and trucks with the 22RE's. When I posted this someone said they swapped some rotors from a 2nd gen 4runner onto their 3rd gen truck that they got from a wrecker and said it definately firmed up the brake pedal a lot. I was also told this by a Dealership service manager, so I think it is probably true. Also make sure your rear drums are tightened up with the dial (and your E-brake should be tight too) and this could also help.

If thats true I already have them...when I did the swap from my 95 runner to my 92 I just upbolted the upper arms, and the lower arms (drop barckets) and swaped em over...so I acutally have 95 4runner hubs, brakes, CV's...etc on my 92 DLX 22RE...
I was hoping to throw some t-100 stuff on there....

I had my wife check the part #'s at Autozone and the T-100 brakes are the same size as the 4Runners, so you already have them. No difference in size on the rear brakes.
The 4Runner/T-100 brakes do swap right in on the trucks. Bigger rotor, thicker calipers, and different brake pads are the differences, so they should all be switched over at the same time. My dad's '92 truck works flawlessly with '94 4Runner brakes.

Doh...oh well....so I do have upgraded brakes, sweet.. and to think I swapped the suspensions the way I did because it was easier... :-)
Now, 4cyl 4runners have the bigger brakes too right?
And I thought IFS calipers were IFS calipers??
