3vze Loud Knock on Cold Start
#1
I have been slowly replacing a lot of parts and trying to correct a lot of mistakes from the previous owner. It has been sitting for a while (about a year and a half) and just tried to crank her back up today and it gives a loud knock from the engine but will not start.
I know the gas is old since it has been sitting for this long but would that explain this engine noise and lack of running?
One other thing that worries me is I had to replace the knock sensor so I had to take the pully tensioner off. I marked the belt and pulleys with a marker and made sure the marks all lined up when putting the tensioner back on. That seemed like the right thing to do but would this cause any type of issue with timing?
Any advice is greatly appreciated. I'm new to turning a wrench so this is my learning experience.
Video of engine attempting to start:
New parts:
Knock Sensor & Wire
Refurbed OEM Fuel Injectors
Spark Plugs and Wires
Ton of gaskets and hoses
