3vze help! Electrical issues?

So i'm having troubles with my truck with my 3vze engine that i swapped in there
i'm not the most mechanically inclined but this is a learning experience mainly
for me.

So some background with the truck, bought it last year with a blown headgasket
and a waterlogged engine, so i decided to swap it out for another 3vze because
im only 20 and i haven't made a fortune yet. so i picked up a new engine
did a headgasket job on it then put it in my truck. 7 months down the road its all
"done" go to try and start it and nothing starter wont crank over the
solenoid just clicks. The ignition coil has no spark and you cant hear the fuel
pump running when you turn the key to on, on the ignition. This truck had all
the
wiring under the dash out and i plugged all that back in besides all the blue
ones near the radio because im putting a double din in there when this cracker
gets started. Anyways im really desperate i have drove a yota in 2 years,
hate driving my dodge around. So if someone could help that would be lovely
if it helps whoever gets this problem right ill send a meesly 5 bucks to there
paypal account

I don't know much but i heard it could possibly be the igniter, ignition coil. But there is no power going to the actual coil. I was looking at a wiring diagram
i don't know but it could possibly be the data link connector?? then again i have
no idea

So if anyone has any ideas, i have it at a shop he says hes going to back trace
all the wires to see if i forgot anything but i kinda want the truck before monday

So let me know and ill check whatever you say

Thanks -Jayden

This might sound real simple, but I would check to make sure battery is at peak voltage.
And how are checking for spark if its just clicking?

I hard wired a single connector onto the starter and just hold it against the battery
terminal to crank it over. Sorry for not to much info its hard to think of it all without the truck to look at right here, haha.

That's kinda goofy way to try and start it.
Get the proper cables on and try it again.
That wire your using isn't going to work and probably getting hot.

It was origanlly only to test if the starter actually cranks to see if i needed a
new starter motor. When i have the proper connector on it nothing happens. Just the solenoid clicks.

Okay then back to my original thought, how much voltage does the battery have now?
Have you tested it?

So, when you bypass the starter cables it turns over. Did you check the power wire to the starter?

Swap the starter relay in the fusebox with one of the others just to test.

That is normal.

ksti didn't ask "is the battery new," he asked what you measured. Which means you CANNOT work on anything electrical without a meter. It's not like they cost anything. http://www.harborfreight.com/7-funct...l#.UyxsRPldXnc

Your most likely problem is a low battery, followed by (as others have pointed out) bad cabling. A meter will tell you, otherwise you are only guessing.

It sits @ 12.03v which is low, but we had a pair of jumpers on the truck and still didnt do anything.
