yeah but i got some typical headgasket leaks that need to be tended too anyways so i will do it when i do that

 

anybody else think that a short to my knock sensor might give me that strange knock...dont get what other role it plays if it has nothing to do with its name?

 

Sorry to say that your symptoms are exactly the same as the ones I had when one of my rod bearings went out. For a long time I just got the knocking sound at certain rpms, and after a while it got worse and worse, and the oil pressure was certainly on the low side. Hope it isn't something that bad for you, and good luck in any case.

I bet the sputtering has to do with your knock sensor (wire) though.

 

yeah that deff sucks. im in the army so rebuild projects are hard to find time to do

 

so what would you guys say if i told you the knock isnt rpm related? driving it more i have noticed that it only makes the sound when i hardly touch the gas. truck sputters so when i press on the gas just slightly it doesnt increase rpm quickly but the knock goes away...

 

as long as i stay half throttle taking off there is no knock. its when i try to crusise by barely touching the gas to not excellerate or decellerate
