3vze fuel pressure vsv.

So I'm in the process of checking every little sensor on my 3vze till it runs right. I just finished checking what I thought was the fuel pressure vsv (the vsv located directly behind the fuse box...) I could be wrong about it being the correct vsv, but it worked in an opposite fashion to what the fsm describes (air is directed out of the filter on the bottom when not connected to battery and out of the other line when connected). Weird... Is this the wrong vsv or is it really messed up? How would that affect performance?

Well, it would help to know what is going on with you're engine. How is it not "running right?" I'm sure more people would jump in if we knew what was going on.

It's just got rough idle, horrible gas mileage even for 3.0, and performs poorly IMO. Know anything about the vsv?
