3vze coolant temperature sensor

Digging into my 1995 3vze to get to the head gaskets and I found my coolant temp sensor pictured below had been bypassed, the wire was just run to ground. Also looks like tip is cracked so I am assuming it’s bad. Looks like this sensor is part 89428a? Which is no longer available. Is this part from amazon compatible? Or am I better off with a used one from eBay?

what did you end up doing?

Also maybe get this moved up to the normal 2nd gen forum, not the project.

Doesn't look damaged to me.

This is the temperature switch, it's part of the FPU system. When this line is grounded it activates the FPU vsv and removes vacuum from the fuel pressure regulator giving slightly higher fuel pressure.
