3vze coolant leak

3vze coolant leak
Hi all! I have a 95 m/t v6 runner have seem to have some mild coolant leaks I'm trying to chase out. Does anyone have a diagram or part numbers for the heater hoses and such? I can't seem to find much that helps. Leak seems to be from the back of the engine but I'm worried it may be from the front and running down the skid plate but not seeing evidence on the skid.

Plug your VIN into ToyoDiy.com. IT will tell you all the correct part numbers. Then go to an online catalog -- I like ToyotaPartsOverstock.com and look in the correct section and order the part numbers that correspond.
You find hoses in 3 sections -- heating and cooling for your heater coolant hoses, oil cooler for oil cooler hoses, and then the main coolant section of the online parts catalog...
The oil cooler hoses have been the biggest pain for me, but I need to do my heater hoses and have them in hand to do next -- and I'm going to try and do them w/o removing the plenum...

Just get the engine real hot and see if you can observe the leak.
Most likely it's the U-shaped hose on the back on the engine block like you described. RSR has it labeled as "3" on his diagram. These are known to leak or in my case, explode violently and leak everywhere.
You could also check your timing cover (the plastic cover on the front of the engine, behind the belts and pulleys). if you see coolant dried up like it's been leaking from there than you water pump is telling you that it's failing. Why do I know this? Because mine is... boo. I don't have the tools to take of the pulleys so I have to pay a shop to do it.
Worst case scenario? The coolant is leaking from the head gasket.
If you cannot find a leak from a hose, I highly recommend diagnosing either with the UV dye so new leaks glow when a black light is applied, easy to find the leak or have a coolant pressure check done. The shop I go to did the coolant check for $25, was worth the money to find out what was wrong. I don't know why people are so resistant in going to a shop to get compression checks, coolant pressure checks, etc. They are very helpful and they have tools that the normal DIY'er won't ever have.
